Archived documents from 2007

Please Note: Due to a massive "reorganisation" of the Hansard website during April and May 2009, the site was "down" for several weeks.

It has now reappeared, but unfortunately, many of the links to specific entries were changed. If the link you want comes up as:

The Parliament of Western Australia web site has changed and the content on this link has moved.
Go to the Parliament Home Page at www.parliament.wa.gov.au to navigate to the required content.

Don't go to that Parliament home page: instead go to the Hansard Search Page and enter [from the PLATO entry] the date and a keyword, plus select a member's name from the drop-down list, and you should find the entry you seek.

26/09/2007 From Commission on Government: Establishment Motion [Moore]

"Some ministers in this government treat the process of question time with total contempt. Hon Peter Collier will tell members about a regular event: he has questioned the Minister for Education and Training a number of times and received the answer, “Put the question on notice.”
[Llink-1]

"The first was a question asked by Hon Peter Collier, the shadow Minister for Education and Training, who was told again that there was no answer provided; that just happens every day. The Minister for Education and Training, who is one of those members whose ambition greatly exceeds his ability and who spends half his life trying to be a hit man in the Assembly, continues to ignore legitimate questions asked by a member in this chamber. It is time that old “Sneakers” got his priorities right and made sure that he did the job he was elected to do." [Link-2]

BALGA WORKS PROGRAM - FUNDING

Shadow Education Minister Peter Collier asked, on "notice" in December 2006, the same questions of the Ministers [or their Upper House representatives] responsible for 45 Government Departments.

The link provides transcripts of all 45 answers, compiled into a single web page.

Very interesting reading!
